Joya de Nicaragua, the oldest premium cigar brand in Nicaragua, has a rich history that dates back to its establishment in 1968. However, it wasn't until Alejandro Martinez-Cuenca acquired the brand in 1994 that it began to regain its former glory. At the time of acquisition, the brand was still recovering from the devastation caused by a war that had left its factory burned to the ground.
